How To Bake Your Makeup

Whether you're about to have a serious selfie-sesh or just feel like playing around with makeup, baking or cooking your makeup is the trend you need to try.

Just in case you're not familiar with the term, baking is basically applying excess powder to areas of the face you want to set and brighten (down the nose,

under the eyes, under a contour and any other places you would normally highlight), and then sweeping it away after it's had about five to 10 minutes to "cook."

But before you go reaching for any old powder, remember that loose powders will work the best. And if it's translucent, has brightening properties, and/or is a shade or two lighter than your skin tone, all the better. Not quite sure what to look for? Here is our best selling loose powder for baking.

Here's how you too can pull off poreless, picture-perfect skin and brighten your eye area while you're at it:

  1. Hydrate your eye area.

  2. Apply a thick concealer under your eyes.

  3. Coat on more concealer.

  4. Dust on translucent powder.

  5. Now, "bake" or "cook" your makeup.

  6. Dust it off.

    Happy baking!
